This is the vintage Fisher-Price Racing Rowboat pull toy #730 from 1952-1953. The boat itself is made of painted wood with a colorful paper decal depicting the inside of the rowboat, complete with an anchor and rope and a dog for company!
There is one blemish to the paper decal--a small "pull" of the paper less than a quarter inch long--see photo. Our hearty rower is a wooden man with plastic arms--a precursor of the famous Little People. The yellow oars are plastic, too, and one has the handle broken off--PLEASE SEE ALL PHOTOS. Also missing from the front of the boat is a springy staff with a vinyl pennant. Our little man wears a sort of Navy cap, which shows a crack but appears in no danger of separating.
The underneath of the rowboat shows three wide wooden wheels with a metal mechanism for riding the wavy floors in a vintage home. I'm not sure if the red string is original. The rowboat measures about 7-1/2" long and 4" wide at it's widest point. I have tried my best to describe this toy and it's flaws, but please consider that this toy was manufactured for sale 65 years ago--it is a desirable example of an early Fisher-Price toy and is in great working condition!
